What is Filet Mignon?

Filet Mignon is a lean, tender and about 2 inch thick cut of beef from the tenderloin. This part of the cow is known to be the best tasting and very tender.

Filet Mignon is best cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

Why We Love This Recipe

I used to think that you could only get Filet Mignon at a restaurant. But then I discovered how easy it is to make at home.

We think it taste better and my family can eat a fancy steak without it costing so much.

Why do you wrap Filet Mignon in bacon?

Wrapping the Filet Mignon in bacon is mainly to hold in the juices. It also provides extra fat and flavor to the filet if the Filet is seared properly.
